In October of last year, IDC predicted that Salesforce will create 3.3 million new jobs worldwide between 2016 and 2022, with $859 billion in new business revenue. The study explained that “cloud computing generates these benefits primarily by permitting an increase in IT innovation, which in turn supports business innovation that leads to accelerated development schedules, faster project completion, shorter time to market for new products, and lower operational costs.”
Where do you find yourself in this Salesforce future? Hopefully not at the window, fogging up the glass from the outside. Now is the perfect time to boost your résumé with Salesforce training, getting an early lead before it becomes an entry-level qualification. Just last year, Salesforce became the seventh most in-demand software skill for new hires, and 300,000 new jobs called for Salesforce skills in 2016 alone.
“The demand from the market is really high; demand for developers who can build on and around existing Salesforce platforms, Salesforce administrators, project managers with Salesforce experience, Salesforce training specialists, Salesforce solution architects,” says Alexandra Neuenfeldt, Mondo tri-state and national sales manager for IT recruiting. “Our clients need talent for everything from low-level reporting professionals to high-level developer skills to integrating Salesforce tools and to architects and solutions developers that specialize in customizing the platform to their organization’s needs. There’s a huge range of skillsets tied to this one area.”
Recognizing the need, Salesforce is working to prepare the marketplace by partnering with others to provide top-level training. Taking the lead is Simplus, a Platinum Salesforce Partner and Quote-to-Cash implementation provider. The Utah-based company has recently been named an official Salesforce Authorized Training Reseller (ATR) and is one of the only organizations certified to deliver these courses.
What does this training look like? Simplus begins with the basics. Since November, Simplus has taught sessions in Salesforce Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) in multiple locales, including Chicago and San Francisco. Classes are available for both newcomers and veterans alike and cater to the different levels of experience brought to the table.
“This new training offering compliments Simplus’ implementation services and allows customers to maximize their investment in Salesforce CPQ and learn a high-demand skill set,” says Ryan Westwood, Simplus CEO. “Training, learning, and a growth mindset are key to success in this industry. CPQ skills are needed right now and taking the time to get certified can not only improve outcomes for your business but benefit your career in a powerful way.”
“As a longtime Salesforce Consulting Partner, we recognize the incredible value of Salesforce knowledge and certifications,” says Kyle Hanagarne, EVP of professional services at Simplus. “Trailhead is already an industry-leading learning solution, so I’m thrilled that Simplus can now deliver these courses in Salesforce classrooms. As more people use Salesforce CPQ, the need for more product education increases, and it’s an honor to provide it.”
The best time to gain a skill is before it becomes commonplace. You’ve never had a better opportunity to set yourself apart in a marketplace that has a hot demand for a skillset that’s now readily available through a variety of course offerings.
