What do you do at Simplus?
What are some achievements of which you are most proud? Both professionally and personally.
When I think about achievements professionally, I could obviously talk about certifications, professional designations, etc. However, achievements to me encompass results achieved that made a lasting impact on my client or company. These are the types of achievements that make work fulfilling for me. For example, I once was given a critical project for a client that was considered a detractor. They historically had a negative perception of Marketing Cloud and the value that it could bring to their business. It was my job to change that perception. I was tasked with identifying their business problems and implementing a solution that could help them to push their marketing strategy forward. With this project, I helped them to implement and operationalize their first automated email journey, where they saw a 67 percent lift on their historical open rate and a 75 percent lift on their historical click rate. With the success of that journey, I was also able to secure funding to implement their first instance of audience builder that helped to completely transform their segmentation process. These two tangible deliverables helped the marketing team to successfully implement “Smarketing”, Pushing hot leads to sales that ultimately helped them to begin to formally track the ROI for marketing initiatives. Most importantly I transformed the client from a detractor to a promoter. This client became one of our biggest advocates and was key to driving adoption across the enterprise. They even held a thank-you lunch where they monetarily awarded me for my leadership on the project. It is these types of achievements that I hold most highly.
What are your hobbies?
Traveling is my number one hobby! If I could be a travel blogger and sustain my current lifestyle I would do it in a heartbeat! I am actually in Aruba as I write this. So far I have been to Panama, Mexico, Aruba, Jamaica, Cuba, and Bermuda. In 2020 I had plans to go to Spain; however, my plans were canceled given the pandemic. My next destinations are Thailand and Greece. But I really need to prepare myself for the lengthy flights. Investing in luxury handbags is my second favorite hobby, but I’d choose the experience and memories of traveling over handbags any day!
Why do you like working at Simplus?
Simplus has truly been a breath of fresh air for me. Interestingly enough I was interviewed by my former employer inquiring as to what it was that I loved about Simplus, i.e. “What is the #1 factor that leads you to choose Simplus?” My response was “The Simplus company culture. I want to work for a company that I am proud of. A company that believes that culture and values come first. Who fosters an environment where egos are left at the door and everyone is valued.” I stand by that today! The company culture is unmatched and the level of transparency provided by executive leadership should be modeled in all industries. The people of Simplus are the icing on the cake. Everyone is so nice, welcoming, and extremely helpful. It’s refreshing!
